FA - Lateral Movements 2018 - 2019

10th December 2017
FA - Lateral Movements 2018 - 2019

To:          All Steps 1 to 7 League Secretaries

Dear Colleagues,

Lateral Movements

I am writing to request that all clubs at Steps 2 to 7 are informed of the possibility of lateral movements between leagues at the same Step in the National League System at the end of the current Season.

It would be appreciated therefore if you would send an email to your member clubs advising them of the following information E-MAIL SENT 10/12/2017

(please could you ensure that you also copy me into the email sent to your clubs so I have a record of notification – this is for any potential board of appeal):-

“This email is to remind clubs that it may be necessary at the end of the current Season to consider the lateral movement of clubs between leagues at the various Steps within the National League System.  Whilst it is too early to be more specific at this stage this email is advance warning that this could occur and that your club may be one of the clubs that will be moved.  Owing to the NLS restructure, it is likely that there will be more clubs than usual that will be laterally moved in the System. We would remind you that provision for lateral movement is included in the current Regulations for the Operation of the National League System.

REGULATIONS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE SYSTEM

4.         Rules and Regulations for Promotion and Relegation

The LC shall provide for the seasonal promotion, relegation or lateral movement of Clubs.  A League must be committed to promoting and relegating Clubs at the conclusion of each Playing Season.”

New Clubs wishing to enter the System above Step 7

Attached is the relevant form should any new club approach you wishing to enter the System above Step 7. Please note that the deadline has changed to 1 February in each season and that it is the League that apply for a Club to be entered, not the Club itself.

Step 7 to 6 Promotion Criteria 2018 - 2019

26th October 2017
Step 7 to 6 Promotion Criteria 2018 - 2019

Dear Colleague,

Please find attached all the necessary documentation for the Step 7 to 6 Promotion Application process.

As in previous seasons, The Football Association will manage the promotion process for all clubs seeking promotion from Step 7 to Step 6 of the National League System. The ONLY EXCEPTION will be in cases where Step 6 competitions have Step 7 divisions as part of their Constitution. Promotion in such cases will be in accordance with the Rules of that particular competition, although the final placement will be the responsibility of the Association.

You may note that the Application Form itself is now an editable PDF. We have decided to make this change in order to make life easier for the clubs as they can save their entries and edit this from season to season, changing only the items where a variation exists. Therefore, if a club applied last year they may benefit from simply updating last years’ form.

We would appreciate it if you could forward this to your member clubs as soon as you are able, and to explicitly highlight that all items have to be;

SUBMITTED BY THE DECEMBER 31st DEADLINE.

The cheque payment is also due by this date and it should have the Club’s name written on the back if from a personal/unrecognisable account.

Note: New North West/Essex & East Anglian Step 6 Divisions – Clubs will be aware of the two new divisions at Step 6 from the 2018/19 season. At the time of writing, the membership of the divisions are unknown but the selection of membership will be made by the FA’s Leagues Committee in conjunction with leagues. It is feasible that more than one club per Step 7 league (in the surrounding areas) could be promoted and clubs are encouraged to apply in the usual manner.

All promotion applications and/or queries, along with the supporting documents, should be sent to promotions@TheFA.com

If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Kind regards

Matt

WGS Club Discipline Guide

7th October 2017
WGS Club Discipline Guide

DCFA LOGO

Dear Colleagues,

As we’ve had a few issues recently with new club secretaries being caught out when it comes to dealing with discipline through Whole Game System, I thought it would it would be useful to put together a guide to using WGS, in as simple terms as possible.

If there’s anything you don’t understand, please feel free to ask!

Kind regards,
